What A Sex Position Says About You
Snap judgments are an unavoidable part of life. You’re judged on everything you do, sadly. Your favorite sexual position is judged as well, so let’s talk about what your favorite sex positions say about you to a girl making a snap judgment (note: this information has little place in a long term relationship since the snap judgments are rarely accurate; this is just what a woman is likely to think without really knowing you).
Doggy Style
To be clear, I’m not talking about all sex from behind when I talk about doggy style. Doggy style is strictly the girl on her hands and knees (or elbows and knees) and you standing or kneeling behind her and looking down at her while you thrust into her vagina from behind. A love of that position communicates a disdain of women, a desire to degrade them, and a generally misogynistic approach to sex, sadly. That may not be what’s going on in your head, but you have to admit that loving a position where you have very little contact with your lover and can’t look into her eyes isn’t the most loving and caring of positions so it’s hard to argue too strenuously with the judgment.
Missionary
In the world of sex positions missionary can lead to two different snap judgments. The first is that you’re a caring, loving guy that wants to connect with you lover as you thrust inside of her. You want to look deep into her eyes, kiss her passionately, and connect. It can also mean that you’re boring, afraid to take chances, lack an adventurous spirit, and are ultimately uptight about sex. Finally, to some it indicates a desire for traditional sexual roles where the woman is compliant and lies on her back to receive you as you maintain control.
Cowgirl (Girl on Top)
The cowgirl position comes with multiple meanings too. It can mean that you’re submissive and would prefer her to be in control, and usually not in a good way. That works for a certain kind of woman, but most will be annoyed that you’re not enough of a man. Oddly enough, it can also mean that you’re the perfect kind of man that’s willing to be flexible in bed and let her take charge and go for a ride on your bone if she wants.
Spooning
Spooning tends to be an erotic, passionate position as your bodies are entwined as you thrust into her in a sideways from behind kind of way. It’s rare since it can be difficult to make happen physically, but it almost always goes over in a positive way. It’s hard to see it as anything other than wanting to be close, to be erotic and intimate (the position doesn’t really allow for hard and fast thrusting), and to be in love.
As you can see, it’s difficult to really know what favorite sex positions say about you since it can be so many different things depending on the person you’re with. The lesson to take away is that it’s generally unwise to state any favorite until you’ve gotten to know the person you’re with.
